Title: CP hinge - front or back - why?
Post by: ThePaul on June 28, 2004, 01:21:25 pm
Most examples I see seem to have the hinges in the front. I am sure there is a good reason for this, but I can't figue it out. Can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance!

oh fyi my CP does have a 1.5" slant.

Probably so that it doesn't pinch the glass bezel.  Many people use the CP as an edge to hold the bezel in place.

besides rubbing on the monitor glass, depending on your monitor orientation, the joystick handles may actually HIT the glass if it was hinged from the back.

Hinging the CP away from the monitor fixes this problem.
