Title: I just ask that someone restore it, not MAME it...
Post by: pitfaller on June 27, 2004, 01:39:42 am
and its not even my auction...

Saw this in the listings, under two days and no bids yet - granted it is just the cab (completely gutted) and it is $99 bucks - but it is begging for restoration - so tempting since it is really just a day of driving for me so shipping is the cost of gas, but I have way too many other things to do

Joust Cocktail (gutted)

Over 301 looks, but no takers so far.

Apologies if this is a dupe (I looked but not in all the forums...)

I saw that too.   Problem will be getting parts for it.  You can get repros for the upright, but not the cocktail, and it'll be a free listing + final value fee day on ebay (read: cold day in ___)  before you'll find someone listing NOS parts for it. :(

However I think even without graphics someone should get it back to it's old self... problem is $99 is quite pricy for what you (don't) get.

I would be interested in getting this as it's about 5 hours from home.  Did someone ever create the plans for the Joust cocktail?  It's not worth much to me if I can get the plans to build my own.

That thing's only about an hour from me and I'd LOVE to restore a Joust cocktail, but man, that thing is GUTTED.

If the starting bid was reasonable or more of the original parts were there, I'd consider it, even though I have enough projects to keep me well occupied for the time being.

As it sits, I just can't justify buying it. MAME might be this thing's only chance, at this point...

If you're interested but not willing to pay that much, just bookmark the auction and see if it sells; if it doesn't, contact him and make an offer...  :D

I tried to get it but someone outbid me!  It's probably better that way since I alread have too many projects.
Right now I'm building 3 Midway cocktail cabinets from scratch, rebuilding a Frenzy cabinet, and when I get around to it, troubleshooting a Foxy Lady cocktail pinball.

147 for that?!?!?!?!

It is a pile. It is barely even a cabinet. it would take a ton of money to restore that to any former glory.

It was tempting at $99 but as others pointed out, a bit much - swingable in that I could drive to pick it up and gas wouldn't be too harsh.

I was gonna pitch $40 to $50 after the auction ended with noi bidders...

I saw someone bit, then quit following the auction.

Almost $150 for the final price?  Deee-ammmm....  Methinks I should start churning out Joust-style cocktail DIY cabinet kits...

Just think if the final bidder is gonna have this box shipped via air...  What do think the final damages will be?  $250?  More?
