Post by: Ghoward on June 26, 2004, 11:16:17 am
Ok well I've built two cabs but I would like to put them on the web. I don't know much about building webpages so whats the best way to go about doing this?

What are the free web companys like and whats the best? If I was for a site what company is the best to go with and whats the easy way to build a website?

The easiest way?  Just go to one of those free webspace sites (geocities, tripod, AOL, etc.) and get an account.  They have (or at least used to, I haven't checked as of late) free tools that basically walk you through a no-frills but perfectly readable webpage template.

You could also download a shareware/freeware WYSIWYG editor so you don't have to wrestle with HTML (even Microsoft Word has one).  That's a little more advanced but very easy to learn (plus you start figuring out HTML along the way).  All you need do is upload the files (either with your provider's built-in app or a free FTP program - both simple to learn).

As for the best -- well they all have quirks (for being free you need to display ads).  Geocities at least lets you close the ad I know.

See if your Isp offers free web space. A lot give 10megs of free space with every email address, usually you wont have to have any ads that way.
