I have a PIII 800Mhz Dell that I want to load Mame DOS on. The problem is it does not have an ISA slot. I need to know what PCI sound cards out there support DOS. Keep in mind that I will not have Windows installed so I need one that has a dos install program or one where someone knows exactly what to place in CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT.
Please share your thoughts if you know of a solution.
Thanks,
Todd

SB16 PCI
Ensoniq PCI
A lot of Yamaha based cards
Should all work.

Todd Todd Todd, ;)
I would load up xp pro and mamewah or ultrastyle. If you have decent mem in the unit you will not notice any differance. in some cases it may even be better.
I had a PII 267 Mhz with 256 mb ram in it and I ran xp pro with mamewah verticaly.

A PIII 800 is definitely on the border of whether DOS or Windows would be better, but since that's not your question, I'm not going to needlessly lecture you one way or the other.
I would have to second Peale's recommendation the SB16 PCI.

I'd try Windows 98, no matter what hardware you have there is definately a driver for it at www.driverguide.com
