Title: T-Stick plus and Oscar's joystick mounting plates
Post by: greywolf22 on June 23, 2004, 12:53:27 am
Hey guys,

Was looking around the board, but didn't happen to come across this.  Currently on my cab I have 2 Joystick mounting plates from Oscar with 2 8-way joysticks.  I'm contemplating purchasing 2 T-stick plus's due to the ease of switching between 4-way and 8-Way.  Does anyone know if I can install the T-stick plus on the joystick mounting plates? Are the dimensions the same as the HAPP's joysticks?  Just wanted to make sure before I ordered a pair.  Thanks  :)

The holes are not the same.
The plate on the T-stiks is much narrower than the mounting holes on the Happ sticks.

The holes are the same as the inside holes on the Happ sticks.  Japan / Europe use the narrower mount.

With the stick removed, the top of the base is flat so it is easy to use it as a template.

I have a T-Stick Plus for player 1 and a Happ Competition for player 2.  I drilled the holes for the T-stick on both so I can use either stick.  All of the Happ sticks I have seen have both sets of holes.  Original US arcade sticks do not, they only have the wider spacing.

Hope this helps,
Paul

Incidentally, I seem to remember when Andy originally announced the T-Stick Plus there was some talk of a conversion kit to "upgrade" a standard T-Stick . . .

Anyone have any updates?? (or am I just wishing . . .)

I thought I saw one, but that might have been to update the T-Stick to the T-Stick Plus and not the T-Stick Plus Mark 1.  And it looks like the Mark 1 terminology got dropped, so the current Plus is really the Plus Mark 1.

E-mail Andy Warne, though.

I haven't seen any update on that but as you can already get shafts seperately all you would need is the spring, the u shaped locator, a couple of washers and cut your own grove in the "whatever you call it" square plastic thing that acutually does the switching.  It's really only the longer shaft that you can't supply yourself (without your own lathe) and he sells these anyway.
