Title: CHD help

Ok So I have  my maxforce.zip <-- rom  and maxforce folder with CHD  in there , go back to mame run maxforce from the list and it says error roms missing, cant read it too well but lists off 4-5 lines ( Im on a TV screen.)

what am I  doing wrong, , do i need to run clr mame or something?

Do you have the right CHD version for the version of Mame you're running?

Are your ROMs and CHDs in the proper folders?

Being able to know what the error is is *critical* to finding out what the issue is.  Drag a computer monitor over to the cab and test.

maxf_105.hh  NOT FOUND
maxf_105.hl  NOT FOUND
maxf_105.lh  NOT FOUND
maxf_105.ll  NOT FOUND
maxforce.chd NOT FOUND
 
Above is the error I get in MAME

the maxforce.zip has 4 files in named,

hh.bin
hl.bin
lh.bin
ll.bin

I have a folder called Maxforce in the ROMS folder inside is the CHD with the 1.08G chd file.


How do I find out what version the CHD and ROMS are?

You may be able to rename those ROMs:

hh.bin to maxf_105.hh
hl.bin to maxf_105.hl
lh.bin to maxf_105.lh
ll.bin to maxf_105.ll

As for why Mame doesn't find your CHD, I just want to clarify: your DIR setup is like this:

C:\MAME
     mame.exe
C:\MAME\ROMS
     maxforce.zip
C:\MAME\ROMS\MAXFORCE
     maxforce.chd

yes that is the file structure. ill try naming the files right now.....

Seriously, looks like you have a copy of the ROMs that are not passing the checksums.  Do a search on Google for 'maxforce.zip' and likely you will find the right one.

Updated ROM  and mame32 to .83  its running now.
