Title: How do you make scanlines?

How do you create scanlines for use in artwork?  I've done it the really hardway in PS by drawing lines every 5 pixels or so but there has got to be a better way.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

this works well, you can also change the opacity of the scanlines to make them more/less prominent

That's exactly what I'm looking for.  Thanks for the link.  I'll check out their site some more cool stuff.
