Title: KDS 21" Pixeltouch w/BNC 5 connectors
Post by: jerryjanis on June 21, 2004, 07:50:57 pm
I found out on this message board somewhere that VGA<->BNC-5 connectors are available that would work on our new KDS Pixeltouch monitors, and I thought I would give it a try.  I bought a cable and hazarded a guess as to which cables would go where and it appears that I got it right on the very first try!

While looking at the back of the monitor, the connectors (from left to right) are: R, G, B, Hsync, Vsync.

I didn't notice any difference between the two, although I am not very picky.  I'm using a Radio Shack VGA cable and a used Sony BNC-5 cable that I picked up on Ebay.  I took pictures of each one while running at a resolution of 1920x1440 in case anyone is interested in making their own judgement:

Can't say that I can see a difference besides the refresh line in the BNC pic.  I know that's normal when taking pictures.  Thanks for the info.

OK quick question.  Which one is "suppose" to look better?  And for what reason?   ;D

I'm betting it's going to be mostly the same.  They're still separated by r/g/b/sync/forget the fourth...

It's probably just for versatility purposes that they would put both.

I think that todays svga cables look better than the older ones because of wire shielding, and those magnetic shields that are now encased on the ends of the cable.

The included 'older' style svga cables gives me ghosting and is blurry.
