Title: I-PAC IMPORTANT Question *******
Post by: koolmoecraig on June 21, 2004, 03:32:21 pm
Hello all.

If I order the I-Pac USB from Ultimarc, is it just a USB adapter cable?

In other words, can I use it in PS/2 as well?

Thanks!

Mine was like that. (USB adapter cable + jumper to select ps/2 or usb mode).

The I-PAC/2 or I-PAC/4 with the USB cable will work in either mode.  The I-PAC VE is USB only (no PS/2 support).

It just came out a couple of weeks ago -
Main differences -
32 inputs instead of 28 (Good)
RAM instead of EEPROM, so custom codesets have to loaded at each system boot (not a deal-stopper).
USB only - Probably better for your application, sometimes has problems, should be fine with newer hardware.
LED support, but I'm not sure how they hook up.

AFAIK, yes (USB or PS/2 compatible)
