I recently took apart a X-Arcade 2 player control panel and installed the guts in a real arcade cabinet contol panel.
Cant tell you how long it took but it works like a charm.
Oh yeah, here is a tip.
Make sure you label where each microswitch goes before you start unplugging stuff.
I did it the hard way.
I wrote down what color wires went to what when I should have labeled each microswitch with a marker (where to plug what microswitch to what color button in the control panel)
Would have taken me less time.

Or, always a better idea, digital camera, take pictures before removing things.

is there only 1 side button (left lower) on x-arcade?
what is that used for?

is the wire long enough for bigger cp for side use?

Well, I have a playstation 2 installed in my Virtua Fighter 2 cabinet.
I just used the VF2 control panel and put the xarcade guts in it.
(A guy friend drilled 4 additional button holes for each player in my control panel since I was going to use a PS2)

Here is the X-Arcade instruction manual.

If I'm thinking of the correct buttons on the side.
When using a playstation the left side button is select for player 1 and the right side button is select for player 2.
I also remember a white button but can't remember where it was on the control panel. Seems like it was on the upper left side.
Maybe it's a pinball button.

is there one on the right?  yes

is the wire long enough for bigger cp for side use?" yes
At least I was able to use the wires on my VF2 cabinet.
Although I have to move two button on the control panel to another location because I wanted them in a certain place because two wires couldn't go where I wanted them two.
I can't vouch for the X-Arcade being able to fit in a control panel bigger than mine.
I'll eventually take pictures of my control panel so you can see what it looks like.
Here is someone elses VF2 cabinet and control panel to give you an idea.

Funny thing is.
The guy who did this cabinet used the X-Arcade control panel instead of the one that came with his cabinet.

Here's a picture of someone elses VF1 cabinet.
The first picture shows the control panel that's the same size as mine.

Here is a picture of someone elses VF2 control panel.
This will give you an idea of what my control panel used to look like.
I'll probably wait closer to Xmas to get another digital camera.
