Title: Hacking coin mechs...
Post by: lord_mike on June 20, 2004, 01:46:03 am
I have a couple $.25 coin mechs in my cab, and I would like to have more options for when friends come over.  The expensice route would be to get token mechs and tokens, but I've already spent enough time and money on this cab...

Anyways, I was wondering if there was a way to hack the coin mech to take other (or any) coins, like pennies.  I know that someone on this board mentioned "shoving straws" (???) in the mech to make it take any coin, but he didn't describe the details.

Any tricks or assistance would be appreciated.  Let me know if you need more info on the mechs or pictures.

Thanks in advance!!!

Mike

I guess you did not search or did not see this thread.

Thanks, nasty!  I did search, but all I found was the guy who shoved straws in his mech.  And I like that spinner control that's on that page you gave me, too.  Are their any other cool "hack" projects on the board that I'm not aware of (I did find the $2 bezel, which is also very cool).

Thanks,

Mike
