Title: C-Clip? E-Clip?
Post by: tj on June 19, 2004, 01:30:51 pm
I've heard it called a few names, but whatever it is, I'm having trouble getting it installed on my X-Gaming joysticks.  With a little work, I can slide it on partially, but no matter how hard I push, I can't get it all the way around the rod.  Am I even supposed to be sliding it on?  I'd hope I don't have to hurt my fingers to get this on, but at the moment they hurt and the c-clips are still off.

You should be using some needle nose pliers.  At least, that's how I get mine off and on.

They slide on.  Use a screwdriver or something to slide it on rather than your fingers.  The clips are very annoying though.  One time, when I took the e-clip off my P360 joystick, it flew across the room and I had to spend a half hour looking for it.  :-\

Thanks.  Once I get it on a little way, can I stop pushing down on the other piece (the little piece that flips for 4/8 way?)  Or do I have to keep putting pressure on that?

I'm not calling you an idiot, but are you putting it on the rod or in the groove on the rod?

Hehe, it's okay, I am an idiot.  I'm putting it in the groove though, so I guess I can't be that bad.  I finally got it on, after trying for a few minutes with a screw driver, then got it on the rest of the way with the pliers.  Thanks for the help.
