I am a total newbie to BYOA.
My question is I came across this prefab cabinet on Ebay and was wondering if it is any good? Sturdy etc.. Also, how hard would it be to attatch a custom control panel to it.
The electronics don't scare.. But, I am not a woodworker by any means. So I thought it might be a good solution

From what I know the Ultimate arcades are good, but overpriced.
You can probably get a used cabinet in decent shape from about $100 - $500.

The Cab I am refering to is an unfinished cab. Runs 299.00 on ebay. From what I understand you just assemble it with some simple hand tools.
I have checked around and can't find any used cabs that are reasonable priced.

You might want to get one of the kits being sold here.
Some are pretty cheap (in the few hundred range) and will be new.. Search around..

Overpriced!?
The kits are one of the cheapest (if not THE cheapest) available and it's a great cabinet! If you're talking about built ones on ebay or auctions, I agree. They can be expensive, but don't forget, they usually come with a 27in montior (something like a d9200) which is pricey on its own, along with hundreds in controls, etc (by the time you count coin door, 4 joysticks, trackball, spinner, interfaces, computer, you're already looking at $700-$1000 just in parts alone OR MORE, nevermind labor.)
