Here's how my project came to be.
I bought a VF2 and had a friend install Dead or Alive and Sonic Championship in it.
My cousins wanted to play different games all the time and I got tired of changing the cables.
(An arcade developer Jeff Ferrar - I think I have the correct name - said it would be hard to build a switcher for three model 2 games)
The Dreamcast came out on the market and I decided to sell my Dead or Alive and VF2 motherboards.
(I purchased Dead or Alive 2 and VF3 for my Dreamcast)
My Dreamcast went to heaven eventually.
The arcde monitor stopped working .
I'm a pc tech/network support specialist so I don't repair monitors.
I figured if the monitor was bad it would cost me at least $500 for a medium or multi resolution monitor.
So, I sold the Sonic Championship motherboard, cables, power supply, marquee, monitor etc.
I had the same guy friend remove the monitor from this cabinet.
I wasn't sure if it was something something simple to get the monitor working.
I have several ps2 games so that's what in the cabinet now.
Along with my Happs joystics and Happs buttons I installed the xarcade controller and wiring.
My six year old cousin came over and beat my in a lot of games.
We have played VF4, Tekken, INinja, Dead or Alive, Let's Get Ready To Rumble, Soul Calibur 2, etc.
The games that require analog control work fine.
I wish my digital camera wasn't broken.
I'll buy another one soon and post some pictures.
It's nothing fancy about the cabinet.
Also, my guy friend but a 25" tv in place of the arcade monitor.
Sadly, this tv doesn't have svideo or component.
I can live with that for now.
I wasn't dating this guy but he was doing some work for me around the house.
Of course he was getting paid for doing this.
I wanted him to build me a separate cabinet for mame.
I realize I can use a pc with the xarcade controller but I want a trackball and a spinner mostly.
It's not enough room in the existing control panel.
Here is what the cabinet looks like when it had the arcade monitor but instead of a Sonic Championship marquee, it now had the VF2 marquee.

That's a nice marquee but I'm sure most of us would be interested in seeing the entire cabinet.

Flampoo.
I realized everyone want to see pictures of the whole cabinet.
My digital camera is broken. (stated this in previous message).
The picture that you see was taken with a polaroid months ago.
When I purchase another digital camera, I'll be mroe than happy to post pictures.

I hate to be picky, but this is a message board, not AIM...you don't have to hit enter after each period! :)

I know he stole my name! No not really but he spells it differently. Nice to see another "gamer chick" on the BYOAC forum. Congrats on your most excellent choice of hobbies.
