I'm trying Ctmouse, Optidrv, Oscars duel mouse driver.
Has someone out there gotten two track-balls to work with the Opti-Pac?
My computers don't even recognise the second com2 plug coming from the Opti-Pac.
If you could give me some advice, I would be very greatful.
Thanks -Mike

Sorry if this is stating the obvious, but are you sure your COM2 port is enabled in the motherboard bios? If so, do you have the opti-pac's jumper set correctly for separate controls?
-
I tested the com2 port.
And the jumper on the Opti-Pac is correct.
I tested to see if the second track-ball was wired correctly, and then put it back.
Is your Setup working? And, what version of Mame and mouse drivers are you running. Thanks -Mike

I don't have the cab anymore that had dual spinners, but I ran that one in DOS with the same setup as yours. I think the last version of mame that I had installed on it before I sold it was .37b15??
Anyway, are you running Windows? If so, you have to wait until Windows finishes loading before you plug in the COM2 serial connection, as described in the Optimouse driver docs. I don't know if that helps any....
What exactly is happening? Just no response, or are you getting errors, etc??

Are you saying you ran the "Optidrv" driver after booting up Windows. I could only get the mouse drivers to work in pure dos.
I'm using dos Mame .61
If I ever get the second track-ball to work, Is it possible to use both with Mame32, or even within Win98?
-
No, I said that I ran my cab w/ dual spinners in DOS. I just remembered that the documentation said that if you ran Windows, you had to wait until it finished loading before initializing the Optimouse driver.
I had dual spinners running no problem in pure DOS with the dual mouse driver and the optimouse driver, so I'm not sure what could be causing so many problems for you. One more thing I can think of is... are you initializing the Optimouse driver on COM2 with the /2 switch?
If it still isn't working after you verify that, then I would suggest you contact Andy Warne via email cause he's probably ran into these questions more often than anybody.

I think there's a problem with the drivers not seeing the second player cable, which is connected to the second player port on the Opti-Pac.
The Second track-ball works great with the jumper changed to simultaneous mode, but set to duel mode the drivers don't see the second-player com2 plug. Has anyone had this problem before. Thanks -Mike
P.S. Andy is also emailing me for the solution to my problem.
Thanks -Mike
