does anyone have the details to using a multimeter to ID the keys?

I guess that's just a continuity test: you set the multimeter in the ohm meter section, choosing the highest value. A 1 should be displayed. Then you put one lead where the button trace begins (where the button gets pressed) and the other on the connector pins when you find the right one a 0 will be displayed.
