What resolution are you running? Try 640x480 for Windows desktop. Some resolutions just don't seem to work. 401x256 rolls on mine, and it seems like quite a few games try to use that one.

Are you sure you have installed the AVGA driver correctly?
Maybe the standard Windows XP ATI drivers are being used instead?
I had to boot in safe mode and install the AVGA drivers.
What monitor are you using? Maybe you need a video amp to boost the video signals? the AVGA output signals are 1v some monitors require a 5v signal. If you are using a JPAC i think it does this for you.

I was having the same damm problem (See "Roll and Stop" thread). I tried everything that the forum members suggested without success. I figured that they were getting sick of my B'n and moanin' so I hit up the man himself, Andy Warne of Ultimarc. He thinks the problem might be from the Video Amp, with the idea that maybe my monitor needs a "+ "sync, and the Video Amp outputs "-" (or something like that). I have to mail my Amp back to him....*sigh*....the unbearble wait for arcade glory continues..... :'(

But im not usin a video amp. the desktop is displaying at 640x??? (forgot) I have the r g and B hooked up to the r g and b of the monitor. Then I hooked the + and - up to the + and - of the monitor as well.. i think..... its a very slow rolling.
am i sappose to combine um or what? it is a WG monitor :)
thx

Yeah, actually try wiring the monitor +/- to just the negative sync on your card. If that doesn't do it, try the positive sync on your card. If that doesn't do it, then maybe someone like Ken Layton can be of more help.

Set it to 640x480 interlaced for the windows desktop. That should hold. If it doesn't, you will need to adjust the monitor. My Tekken 2 has a WG 25k7191 monitor. I couldn't tell which pot to adjust by looking at it. This page has a link to the manual, if you have the same, or probably similar, monitor, it will tell you what to adjust.
Hope this helps,
Paul
