Title: KeyWiz fubar

My KeyWiz keeps messing up. I tried rebooting to clear its memory. I then configured MAME to use the right keys. Everything worked fine. Then in the middle of the game everything stopped working. I exited and ran a key testing app and the keys had completely changed!! This had happened before when I was using a custom configuration for my KeyWiz through the keywiz uploader application. In the middle of the game it screwed up and changed all the keys to totally different ones.

What is wrong?! How can I fix this?

Do you have the Shazam key wired to a pushbutton?

Without knowing your full situation, it's hard to say what the problem is, only that this obviously isn't normal.

The last time I heard something like this, the individual had hooked 5v from his computer to the +5 line on the KeyWiz.  As the keywiz gets it's power directly from the PS/2 port, this was not necessary and turned out to be the problem.

The best thing would be for you to contact me directly and we can walk through your situation and get your troubles taken care of.
