Title: Where to go for ArcadeOS support? Here?
Post by: Dougmeister on June 03, 2004, 09:03:00 pm
Got it working, but when I fire up a game (e.g., Puckman), I get the following error:

"Out of frequency range
Set resolution lower or see monitor guide"

I have a Compaq MV540 15" monitor.
I ran Fraggal's Mame Installer CD and chose Ensoniq sound card drivers, normal monitor (not tv or arcade monitor), and the Pentium I (i586) version of AdvanceMame.

Advice?

The monitor is set to 640x480 w/ a Vertical setting of 75Hz and a Horizontal of 37.6K, if that helps.  Can't figure out how to change that setting in DOS...

There is an ArcadeOS/MAMEWAH board at MAMEWorld.  It doesn't get many AOS posts any more, but Orclord and a few others might be able to help out.  Sorry I don't know the answer :(

Thanks, will check it out.

On 2nd thought, it may be an AdvanceMame problem or just a config w/ my monitor...?

You're right, this is an Advance Mame problem. Try looking through Las Vegas' guide to setting up AdvMame here (http://members.cox.net/mame1/software.htm).
It's been a while since I've set it up, but I'm pretty sure you just have to get ADVCFG and ADVV set up right (these take a little playing around with to get a regular VGA monitor working).
