Title: WG 25K7191 - No V position pot.
Post by: Meet and Greet on June 03, 2004, 08:31:23 am
I would like to move the picture down the screen another cm or so,  however the V position dial on the remote control is already at its farthest point and the V pos pot on the monitor chassis is missing. ( The yellow wire goes to the remote conrol ) If I alter the V size pot the top of the picture overscans.

I only intend to use a Neo-Geo MVS pcb with this monitor, so when the screen is correctly postioned it will not be changed again.

Anyone have suggestions?

btw the H pos pot is also missing but this is not really a problem.

The v-pot on the "remote control" board replaces the one on the main board--Have you tried adjusting the VR-9 pot (50-60hz marked on the board) it should be just to the right of the flyback and above where the wires for the remote control board come back to the main board.

The VR9 pot is soldered in vertically on the monitor pcb while the other pots are set horizontally for easy access. Anyway I turned the VR9 pot both ways and nothings changed.

I made a basic mistake * Oh Boy * and did not take full notice as to where the VR9 pot was to start with so have put it in the middle.

Am I correct in thinking that the remote control does not offer the minimum to  maximum range settings to alter the picture position, thats why I need further adustment to remove the border at the base of the screen.

The photos are unavailable due to daily bandwidth limitations.

Has the monitor had a capkit lately? Later versions of the K7000 series (like yours) had many of the controls moved to the remote adjustment board. If you don't have enough adjustment range your monitor may need a capkit.

Hi Ken

I do not know if the monitor has had a capkit installed as I have only owned it for a few months.  It was manufactured in 1990 but the picture is fantastic - colours and stability.

Did you see the pictures I have posted. The image only needs to go down a centimeter although I can live with as it is. The Vertical positioning does still work - just that it goes up even further.

The VR9 pot is nagging me now,  ( looked at the monitor PDF after the event - its a 50/60Hz pot ) is it going to be okay set in the middle or should I adjust it one way or another?

Thanks.

Your pictures are not available---blank box. :(

The 50/60 hz pot adjusts the very top and bottom of the picture and is helpful if their is 'foldover' in the picture. It won't hurt anything regardless of where you set it. Install a capkit anyway if you don't know if it has had one. Your monitor is 14 years old and chances are it needs a capkit (you order the k7000 kit).

Thank you Ken, I am reassured.

The ( free) Image hosting I am using only allows 5MB bandwidth per day. Pictures should be back tomorrow.

why not just attach the pictures to the messages? This board supports it!
