In keeping with the recent trend of trying to network with local cabinet builders, here is my offering. Is anyone on this board from Southern NY? (NYC, Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess counties???) For that matter, you could be in parts of NJ and CT too! Perhaps someone should put together a database that keeps track of the regions where people on this board live? Then you could just put in your zip or area code and find who lives near you!!! Anyway, I was curious if anyone on this board is from the areas I mentioned above. I think I'm the only one in Southern NY and it makes me feel sooo lonely. :'(

I'm straddled on the border of Queens and Nassau County (literally). So I guess that makes me southern New York.
If memory serves from previous posts, a lot of members are from the southern NY area, so you're not alone.

I think Action Park went the way of Kangaroo sneakers (though they may have just renamed it). I used to come home from that place bruised and bloody.

LOL, I remember we used to call it "Traction Park!" You couldn't go more than 45 minutes without seeing the small golf cart ambulance they had, taking another wounded thrill seeker to the infirmary! And the dreaded Alpine Slide!!!! I have some nice scars on my elbows from that! So Dave, you from the "tri-state area?"

Yup, basically Nassau County. But the problem with Action Park (Alpine Slide notwithstanding) was that you had to climb jaggety, slippery rocks to get to the top of a water slide. And bare feet and jaggerty rocks don't mix. I've given up on water parks - now I just stick to Six Flags Great Adventure.

Action Park... wow, I have quite a few scars thanks to that place. I have no clue what the status of that part is, but I seem to remember it closing, at least temporarily when something like 4 people in one week got seriously hurt.
I'm in Union County by the way.

Looks like it's still open, but it was renamed, and most of the more "aggressive" rides are gone.
