Title: strange problem! help!
Post by: NaTSuMi on August 01, 2002, 03:23:39 am
I just finished my arcade cab!! YEAH FOR ME!  I'm using a AMD XP 1800 w/ 512 megs of ram.  Has an All in Wonder vid card.  But I have a strange problem.  I'm using Mame32.  If I use a computer monitor, every game runs fine with no slowdown whatsoever.  But if I only have the TV hooked up (the computer boots up fine with just a TV hooked up the vid card) and try to play some games, there is noticable lag occuring in the games.  The games is about 30% slower although boot time and stuff remain the same.  Could it be the TV?  Or anyone else have any ideas?  TV is hooked up using standard vid. cables (red/white/yellow the tv has no svideo) any got any ideas?

To start off with... don't use mame32 in a cabinet.  It really wasn't designed for it.

Get everything working in mame.exe first... then worry about mame32..  It might be something in mame32 specific.

but it sounds like the ati's don't like one of your settings.  Try disabling ddraw, hwstretching, vsync, triplebuffers ect.  one at a time until things start to work.
