Ok i'm in australia and there is a LCD i can get for $130 (i know the guy will have huge import fee's i bet) and its a 7.2" widescreen STN LCD
now cause its a STN and not TFT id like to know if it would look ok? almost all STN lcd's are passive matrix so i'm curious if galaga and a few other classic games will look ok and wont get a ghost effect?
this is the item: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=14946&item=5701376082&rd=1 (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=14946&item=5701376082&rd=1)
If i could get a 5" ps1 screen for cheap i would :(
i know that the LCD is ntsc i have a video card that outputs pal and ntsc :) and it works stright in dos
my plan is basiclly to run VANTage on a old 486 or higer board with this lcd. But im sure this screen would suck. I still would like to hear what u thing :)

Typically, passive matrix will have numerous problems are are not suitable for anything other than TV or static image screens (no huge motion)
Passive usually have horrible viewing angles, dark and hot spots even when viewed at an optimim angle, and also significant pixel shadowing on the rows/columns that are being lit (not the same as movement ghosting)
And of course, ghosting on high motion objects will be bad since refresh rates are very very slow.
Of course I could be wrong and there may be "decent" passive matrix, but I have never seen one.
