Title: Why cant I find this answer anywhere?
Post by: Wotto on May 31, 2004, 01:25:31 am
I am building a cocktail cabinet.

I want to run the Monitor in Landscape mode and I want a front end that loads up in vertical mode and can exit to Shutdown. mamewah looks the goods but wont seem to stretch the games OR turn to vertical mode.

Many many guys before me have built cocktail tables - what do you all do??

Cheers

Everyone has their own opinion, but for me the best front end around is Emulaxian.  It can do what you need with a couple of very simple settings.

http://3darcade.mameworld.net/ (http://3darcade.mameworld.net/)

You can install it as is in seconds and it is a great front end.  Underneath it all is a wealth of options you can change, includes great intructions/tutorial to help you with those options, and the guy who writes it (Peter) is incredibly helpful.  I've probably sent him 6 or 7 questions over the time I've used it and always had an answer within an hour or two (sometimes immediately).  I've been using it for over a year and love it.  He is contstantly improving the front end.  I once asked him for a rather big change/addition to his front end for my specific needs - a "wish list" thing for him to keep in his mind for future releases... In less than a week he sent me a beta version with my option in it.  He said he didn't really think what I needed was that good for him, but he went ahead and did it for me anyway.

If you decide to use this and need help figuring out the settings you need to change for what you want to do feel free to email me (or email Peter athis website)
