Ok, I'm planning a bar/rec area in my new house (which isn't finished yet). Anyway, I want a mirror witht he Guinness logo on it. I had an idea, was wondering if anyone has tried using that glass etching solution in conjunction with templates or taped-off outlines, to gett he desired etched shape...like I would tape around the outlines for the letters in Guiness, apply the etching compound to the glass, and viola, the word Guinness...will this work, do you think? I'm not planning on doing this now, but filing it away for when I have a basement. Thanks.

I dont see why it wouldnt work. Ive used that glass eching solution before and its really easy to use. You would just have to make sure you do a very good job on the outling of the letters.

Yeah, and buy a cheap practice mirror to figure out how long to leave it on for the effect you want. I've used it before, and found the recommended time to leave it on is WAY too short for what I was trying to do (a frosted glass-looking effect).
If you want, I'll reply with the name brand of the stuff I used, I've still got it lying around. Cool idea, by the way.

Well this might sound stupid but it works :)
You know the frosted snow from a can where you get stencils and u spray it on the window.
Well i'v tryed this and you can mask the mirror and then spray that stuff from way back and then leave it for a few days.
The result? frosted glass :) and its a bugger to get off the longer its on i left it for 4 weeks and i had to use a scraper to get it perfectly clear.
But it works :) and if u stuff up well its no loss just wipe off altho i dont know where u can get that stuff when its nowere neer xmas :(
