Well, I bought a working Primal Rage arcade Cab off of eBay. I got the machine yesterday, and I turned it on and it all played good and the machine looked good....but there was too much yellow and green in the moniter and it bugged the ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- outta me. So i went to adjust the contrast and make sure it was aligned up well, and then the moniter went out...but sound and everything was still on. So I figured, hmmm, maybe its the fuse's? Took both fuses out and they looked just fine. I also made sure that some of the wires were hooked up, but i'm new to this, so I'm sure what I'm looking for.
Anyways, now the sound doesn't work either! When I turn it on it sounds like the moniter wants to come on, but stops about 1/2 way through and makes a sound which I can best discribe as fireworks fizzling. I've checked the Jamma board to make sure it was hooked up good....it all looks good.
So, basically what I'm looking for is some help in lamens terms...this is my first cab, and I'm afraid of shocking the hell outta myself also. So yeah, any suggestions?

step one: go to home depot and buy a 5 gallon gas can.
step two: go to texaco and fill up gas can with premium unleaded.
step three: drive home and empty contents of gas can onto arcade cabinet.
step four: stand back 10 feet and throw lit match onto cabinet.
problem solved.
:D
j/k...
i feel for ya, arcade cabinet problems suck. unplug cabinet and then check for loose wires and connections. look for burnt wires and components. or maybe you should put a pc in there and turn it into a mame machine.

There is a suction cup at the top of the monitor with a wire. DON'T TOUCH IT, just follow the wire down and there is a big black thing with two knobs on it.
That big black thingie is the flyback transformer. It has lots of juice running thru it, but it's where you adjust the screen brightness. The bottom button likely does that.
Try turing it up. If that doesn't do anything, then turn the lights off and look at the back of the monitor for sparks. Sometimes the flyback develops a crack and sparks shoot out of it. If not, then look at the top where the suction cup is and see if there are sparks shooting out of it.
If that's the case, you have to find somebody to fix it. It has to be replaced or the case of the flyback has to be epoxied up.

And never use gasoline to burn things. It's the vapors that burn. And it's too volatile/unpredictable.
Now diesel on the other hand . . . Wellllll, Now that's a Fire!

If my step-dad had only listened... he didn't think the christmas tree would burn well so he covered it in gasoline... I knew what would happen so I lit it while he stood back. Flames shot over the power lines... Now THAT was a fire...

If you don't already have them, you can get the operator's manual and a schematic diagram at KLOV.

Sounds like you have moisture in there somewhere ( grounding ) or something else grounding when it shouldn't be. That would explain your crackling noises.
