I need a degaussing coil and must get it now. Checked Compusa and Radio Shack, neither sell it. Anyone know any walk in stores that would sell it?
FYI I live in Bergen County, NJ.

A real electronics store would likely have them, but you could make one out of radio shack supplies. Oscar has a page describing how to make one.

I wouldn't try that unless you really know what you're doing.

Look in your local Yellow Pages under "Electronic Equipment & Supplies-Dealers" for a real electronics store.

Is it for a TV?
If so, you can try this:
1. get the TV in the position you want
2. turn it off and unplug it from the wall
3. let it sit for a few minutes nd then plug it back in
I thought I read somewhere that most newer TVs have a degauss circuit and thats how to activate it if its not a button or a OSD setting

Its for my arcade monitor for my DDR Machine. The monitor was replaced so the degauss button does not work. It looks fine now but I transport it a lot and when that happens it tends to mess up a corner.

MCM Electronics sells them for around $18.
