You don't want to get that shipped. I work at a place that does glass (mostly mirrors). Any glass shop can get that for you, although only a few actually stock the stuff. Just open the phone book and start calling places and getting prices. You want a piece of 30x30 1/4" smoked tempered glass. If you get a choice you want the lighter tint.

You don't HAVE to get tempered, but it is nice to have, as it is much less likely to break.

The reason you want to call around is that any shop will sell it to you, but the few that actually do the stuff are going to be way cheaper on it.

A an FYI - a 30x30 sheet of 1/4 tempered glass woould run you about $25-$35... not sure if the smoked would add cost.  I live in NY where the prices are high and paid $35 for a 30x26 1/4 tempered glass.  If you can afford it, go glass instead of plexi - much more scratch resistant, and the glass would probably only cost you another $10 or so.

I purchased a piece of 24" x 36"  x 1/4" thickness tinted Acrylic from http://www.mcmaster.com/ (http://www.mcmaster.com/). Cost around $35.00 with about $8.00 for shipping. I had no problem with the shipping. It was well protected and it arrived in 2 days.

Check your phone book under "Plastics". If you live in or near any decent sized city you'll probably find two or three places that specialize in Lexan and/or Plexi.
