Title: Mamewah and WinXP's remote desktop?
Post by: SpamMe on May 19, 2004, 03:43:12 pm
Just wondering if anybody has been successful running mamewah from a remote desktop connection. I'm having no trouble with the layout designer, but Mamewah just refuses to open. Suggestions?

I use VNC to get "into" my cab and have noticed some probs with mamewah. Sometimes when I start a game it'll close my connection, sometimes not. SOmetimes it updates the screen, sometimes not..
Typically I try to just use it for things between games

I have tried before and it would not work either. I don't think that it's mamewah though that is doing it. I have had other programs that go to full screen mode that would not work either.
(XP remote desktop control)

I think the problem (atleast with vnc) is that once you enter a game, the resolution switches and vnc disconnects.  If you changed you mame.ini file so that mame runs in the same resolution as mamewah then vnc should not disconnect.

I use a RADMIN and have actually been able to play a game remotely from various machines in the house (wirelessly). Granted who would want to play a game remotely, but it is semi playable. I've not seen any disconnects which is either a testimate to my home network or to that of RADMIN.

This is usually what happens.. I notice that with Dragon King it does it more so because it forced the resolution change, even if the screen is set at the resolution already.

UltraVNC (http://ultravnc.sourceforge.net/) seems to handle the resolution changes the best, and only drops my connection once in a while.
