I got a shipment of leaf-switch buttons and in that shipment are 15 long-stemmed white translucent pushbuttons. Does anyone know what these are from or have a good picture of one? I do not have a digital camera, so I cannot take their picture. They look like a bright light would shine through them, but I am unsure what machine they would be from. In the enclosed picture, there is one of these trans white buttons in the middle of the button heap.
Thanks for any assistance, I am just unsure what to think of them.

Here's another shot of a trans white button from Bob Roberts. The trans white button is at the top of the photo inbetween a yellow and a green button. Anyone have any ideas on this? C'mon...

OKay, I found a great picture of a translucent white leaf button, but what are they from???

I personnally think those would be the best kind of translucent buttons of all. They would change color depending upon what light is shining through them.

Very true, plus the whole assembly would glow because of the white pigment. You might need a serious light bulb under it to get a good effect though. I wonder what they are from... I will check KLOV...

I did see those on a pinball machine a while back. Can't remember what machine it was nor could I say if they were original to the machine. They were flipper buttons and they were back lit (not with colored lights though, just plain natural colored bulbs. I do see them floating around on Ebay from time to time but have never seen them used in a video arcade game. Maybe they are in fact more common on pinballs. ??? Don't know for sure. They are pretty cool though since you don't see them very often. Probably would look even cooler with colored leds behind them.

Looks like this guy used them on a Defender cp. I wonder if this was an original layout or not.

I think he used clear translucent buttons, not the white translucent kind.

Clear??? Anyone know where to find those?

Hmm, that's my defender resto...I really have to find time to finish that someday!
I found the clear buttons on a generic cocktail cabinet, it had the red green blue and clear.
As for those white ones, I've come across a couple before on conversions. I always assumed they were an el-cheapo replacement button, since they seemed of poor quality (soft maybe?). But they may well be pinball buttons. I seem to recall I din't like them, were the edges sharper than regular buttons???

I am not sure if I was dreaming or not! But I could swear that I had come across a thread shoing howto install LEDs into normal HAPP pushbuttons. I remember the guy having all the buttons on his CP lit up.
I have done numerous searches - but cant find it anymore. Does anyone have a link to that info. Has anyone else tried modding normal pushbottons - how well do they glow?
Where do you buy the translucent ones?

Call me crazy, but I bet that was Zakk... :)

Now why does everyone know that I like things that light up?? :)
Here is the thread, by my buddy edge. I scooped a pic of the completed buttons as my avatar, they just look so good!
