Post by: Demon-Seed on May 18, 2004, 01:29:14 pm
Hi
I see the new mamewah came out. How do I update my current version to the new one and not lose my settings?

thx

I'll second this one - Is there any way to upgrade easily from Mamewah 0.63 (my current setup) to Mamewah 0.97 without having to rebuild either my layouts or the games favorite lists??

BTW - Mamewah is great!

i asked this question quite some time ago, and mamewah explained everything to me, but again, it was along time ago and i dont remember how to do it!  i think you save your .lst files in the config folder (thats your custom list)....everything else you can ditch.  but wait for minwah to explain for sure.

minwah-
you should include a thorough explanation on this in your next release for a documentation.....it would save you from having to explain all the time every time you release mamewah v.930459585849348478489 beta 6 and 1/2 ;D

Trouble is I like adding features etc. (thus the big thread for requests), but I really hate doing documentation (I'm sure Howard and the other devs have similar feelings...)!  In this case you're right, it's asked all the time and it's something I keep forgetting about in the excitement to get out each release...I have started a FAQ which hopefully should address this type of thing.

For the (easiest) answer look here:

Alternatively overwrite MAMEWAH.EXE, delete your \MAMEWAH\Files folder and warm up those fingers for re-configuring it all  :D
