Title: MAME32 No Name MAME32 problems
Post by: CGRemakes on May 18, 2004, 02:43:13 am
I used to run MAME32 and then switched to AdvanceMAME.  I would like to continue using MAME32 or No Name MAME32 for my television, since AdvanceMAME doesn't work very well with it.  Unfortunately, now for what ever reason anytime I double click on a game, it just sits there and never loads it.  I can run the command line versions of these programs, but the 32 versions do not work.  Anyone know why?  I never get any error messages, I used to be able to run MAME32 just fine.  I tried redownloading them, but to no avail.   ???

Shot in the dark, but you did re-audit the roms in NNM32 so it knows where your roms are and which ones you have, correct?

I honestly don't know what your problem is. Are you getting any error messages?

No, none at all.  ???  I have the problem in both MAME32 and No Name MAME32.  I don't mind using the command line verisons, but I would like to use the 32 versions.  I believe I started having problems when I started using AdvanceMAME, but I don't know what the connection is.  It finds the ROMs just fine and lists them as "available", but I cannot select them.  I thought there might be an issue with the driver AdvanceMAME requires to manipulate resolutions/rates, but even if I unload it, it doesn't make a difference.

I really don't know. Have you tried starting with just No Name and the ROMs? Delete anything else in the folder.

I haven't, though I will.  The fact that it does it in both MAME32 and No Name 32 (and previous versions as well) leads me to believe there is some sort of driver issue or something that is conflicting that prevents it from loading.  I may just use the command line versions and call it good.  Thanks for the help, I will post if I figure out the problem, or if your suggestion does in fact fix it.

You'll find that is my solution for many things, but it tends to work alot. ::)

Sorry, this didn't fix the problem.  Oh well, I will get by with the command line versions just fine.  Thanks for the help.  :)
