Title: How do I change layouts with Mamewah
Post by: timsatari on May 17, 2004, 10:01:23 pm
Hi all,

I've downloaded a call skin for Mamewah, but can't for the life of me work out how to activate it..All I can do is go into misc options, change layout name (to the layout folder name of my layout) but it defaults back to the classic 640x480?

What to do?

If it defaults back to the standard layout it is trying to tell you something is not right...

Do you have:

\MAMEWAH\Layouts\MyLayout\layout.lay

(Perhaps you don't have the \Layouts folder)?

In this case the 'Layout Name' should be 'MyLayout'.

Hi  Minwah

It's no use - I've tried everything to get this going. Everything else has been relatively simply until now...

I've definitely got the layout directory correct. I've read the readme, I've tried renaming the config file and have tried every variation of directory position of the layout file to no avail. It simply keeps reverting to the default skin!!!

To be more exact, this is the skin I want to install:

http://www.caraudioresources.net/arcade/fe.php and it's the top skin ie. 'grdprx1'.

Please help!! :'(

I know for a fact that that skin was created a while ago for an older version of mamewah - ie. before the emulator specific skin ability was added.

You'll need to download the skin and put the contents of the zip file into a folder called "gndprx" (or whatever you want) inside the Layouts folder within Mamewah.  Then rename the background image to "main.jpg" and rename the .lay file to "layout.lay".

then in the Mamewah.cfg file change the layout name =  to the name of the directory ie. gndprx.  Load Mamewah and you should see the skin.
