I know I get strange looks from my wife but she would never let me build a huge pit in my backyard

One word: redneck.
-
I thought it was funny until he ate a snake. Then I thought it was gross.
-
"Screwy deformed ribcage eh?" I hear banjos.
"Ma fathers ma brother hee haw"
-
He actually did a rather nice job documenting the process. Sounds like it gave him some place to hide during the pregnancy mood swings. :)
-
That was tooooooo funny. I love the cords coming out of the window right through the screen. Very funny.

???....uuuhhhh.....yyyeeeeaaaahhhhh.....
Um, I think we've found the mother of all "byo" websites with this one.
....wow. Not sure what to say exactly other than that if I were his wife I would have thought he was building her a byocoffin.

WTF do you do with such a beautiful hole?
I remember what I did the last time I heard that. 8)
-
WTF?
Is he preparing for the end of the world?
-
spent quite a few nights in the hole while my poor pregnant wife cowered in fear at the house. It was worth it though. I got to see lots of deer playing around and a pair of racoons
WTF?!?!? ::)
-
Is that dude crashwg? ;) He keeps referring to his "fat pregnant wife", and, I'm not sure, I couldn't see it in the pics, but I'm betting his sink was full of dirty bottles he couldn't drink out of :D
I've gotta agree with a couple of other folks. I thought it was interesting and funny until that redneck cracka skinned and ate the friggen snake!
One other observation. This guy OBVIOUSLY put some time, effort, and money into this project. Why couldn't this genius figure out to hook up a hose and submersible pump and empty the water instead of baling it out? Guy musta traded in his "special" helmet for that outback cracka-issue hat!
-
I just don't get it. Here I am, a nice guy with a good job and nice house, and I'm still single at 35. This schmuck has a wife and child.
All this time and hard work, and all I had to do was dig a big hole in the back yard. :P
-
Yeah but did you guys check out the robot he built...

Everybody bookmark this guy's site, just in case your wife or signifigant other ever utters the phrase: "Other women don't have to put up with their husbands building monstrosities at *their* homes"
-
Oh jeeze, this guy is nuts! ::)
-
When I first saw this thread I thought to myself,"oh, cool, someone is building a home."
Not what I expected

Great, how to build a remote control car with real machine guns and a computer brain... I think I've seen this movie... at least I do not live near him...
-
Yikes.
-
Everybody has to have a hobby. This guy is just digging holes.

My thoughts exactly.
Being that I live in tornado prone Oklahoma, this doesn't seem like a bad idea to me, although I think I would probably have bricked up the walls instead of leaving them bare dirt.
Watch for Stingray's next project: BYOSS (Build Your Own Storm Shelter) ;) ;) ;)

I found that the hole was very cool at night and was somehow warm at night.
I will find that Darwin's theory is correct, when this hole collapses and kills him, his sister/wife, and their offspring.
-
would have been so much better if we hadnt known what his intentions were for it. just a hole.
-
I thought only germans dug holes.
In germany they banned hole digging on the beach since the cost for the heavy machinery to level the beaches was growing out of hand. The beach would look like a lunar surface after people left. It's dangerous too; recently a german kid died on one of our beaches in a 2 meter deep hole that collapsed on him. He spent a whole weekend digging.

Wouldn't that be more appropriately put as "BOSSY" (Building Oklahoma Storm Shelters Yourself)? ;D
-
LMAO! This is the funniest thing I have ever seen. All that work and effort to build a hole and it keeps filling up with water, LOL. Priceless.
This guy is hilarious

Excellent suggestion. Once I have my hole available in kit form I'll put you in charge of marketing. ;D
