Lost a tip off my slot cutter yesterday so it's trashed and I set out to buy a new one. I went to Rona and Home Depot and the smallest I could find was 1/8"...didn't think it would be hard to find :-\
Anyone in Canada have a source for these...online perhaps?

Where r u located?? If your in the Hamilton area you can borrow mine.
-
Thanks for the offer GG would you drive it over to Winnipeg for me :)

I called my local Home Depot and the smallest they had was also 1/8". This country sucks for bits & molding. ;D

Go to some place that handles Freud bits. Normally Home Depot will order whatever Freud bit you need. I got mine at KMS Tools in Coquitlam, they had 3 in stock. I don't know if you have Windsor Plywood stores but they would also order it for you.

Check out http://www.1blades.com/
I ordered one from them, and they were very helpful.
They're in Saskatoon.

Thanks for the help guys. Did some phoning around tonight and looks like ordering in a Freud bit is my only choice locally. First time I've ever had problems finding a router bit.
Oldskool I checked out that site but I couldn't see a 1/16" cutter :-\
Do you recall how much it was and how quickly it came?
Just want to find the quickest option.

They have it listed as $36.50 Canadian (for the cutter / mandrel / bearing)
Do a search on their site for SKU R4140-14
If I remember correctly, shipping only took a week or so.

Ok thanks for the info.

I just placed an order with a local tool shop that deals with Freud router bits. They ordered a 1/16" slot cutter with the bearing & mandrel for $30CDN. Since they will be placing their own orders with Freud next week I don't have to pay any shipping. I will locally pick it up at the tool shop store.
And YES for those that"convinced" me to go with T-molding and not a rounded edge I say "Congrats" ;D I also got my free samples of t-molding from T-molding.com and I got excited! Woohoo
