Title: My control panel
Post by: Tahnok on May 10, 2004, 08:55:58 pm
I am trying to locate web sites that I can order all the pieces that I am going to need for my control panel. Here is a list of the parts that I need:

(2) 4 to 8 way joystick
(1) Centipede size Trackball (what is the size of the Centipede machines' trackball?)
(12) Button (leaf of microswitch, I don't care)
(1) 1 Player Start button
(1) 2 Player Start button

Right now I am planning on buying them here: http://www.ultimarc.com/orderd.html (http://www.ultimarc.com/orderd.html)

Which would cost:
Subtotal 126.60
Shipping 23.00
TOTAL 149.60

Could someone tell me if these are OK quality (they don't need to be great feeling, they just need to not break) and if there is anywhere that I can get these cheaper?

tahnok 100, Centipede uses a 2 1/4" trackball.  I use a 3" betson trackball. 3" balls seem to be the most popular size among MAME cab builders but if you're a little short on space I do believe that the 2 1/4" models require a bit less space if thats what you're looking for.  2 1/4" is still plenty big. As stated above, check with Bob Roberts first. He's a super nice guy to do business with and his prices are very fair. The only draw back with Bob is that he doesn't take credit cards or Paypal so you'll have to send him a check or a money order.
