Title: Vertical games not working??

I'm using Windows 98, 800x600 res, and S-Video out on an Asus V3400.  I'm also using GameLauncher as my front end.  However, when I go to play any games that are oriented vertically, the screen just goes black and nothing shows up.

I've looked through the Mame docs to try to find what switch to use, but I'm at a loss.  Any advice??  Thanks.

 ::) Nevermind, just needed to default to 800x600 resolution.  However...My sound really sucks right now (very choppy).  What is the common culprit of this (processor, sound card, RAM) and what are some ways to fix it, either in the Mame options or through different components and/or Windows settings.  Thanks.
