Title: Monitor Issue: Artist's Rendition
Post by: thebrownshow on May 07, 2004, 01:09:38 pm
Excuse the crudeness here, took a screenshot from Asteroids on KLOV and drew some lines on it to illustrate what's going on with my monitor.

On most screens, I get these thin lines that scroll across my screen, almost like some kind of interferrence. They're much easier to see on darker backgrounds, and almost unbearable when playing Asteroids and other vector games. It seems to be happening at all resolutions.

I have a Wells Gardiner K7600 monitor running on an ArcadeVGA and a J-Pac.

Has anyone ever seen something like this before?

You need to adjust the screen pot on the flyback.

i had exactly the same problem, see this post: http://www.arcadecontrols.org/yabbse/index.php?board=4;action=display;threadid=18081

Excellent, I'll definitely give that a shot, seems like you had EXACTLY the same problem as I do now.

Yup, that did it.  It wasn't as easy as just messing with the screen pot, I actually had to go through the entire white balance procedure... well, as much as I could do without an oscilliscope.

Thanks again for the help, looks great now, colors are nice and bright, none of that garbage on the screen!
