Title: Need more info on arcade monitors
Post by: Shieldwolf on May 06, 2004, 04:02:45 am
If  you're using a WG d9200 how do you play newer arcade games? Won't they ruin your monitor, because of higher than supported HZ or display size? Or does your arcade vga/ radeon 7500 card counter act that? I hate to ask such a dumb question, but I didn't see it in the faq.

D9200s can go up to 640x480, and even 800x600 sometimes.   Many newer games can run fine on them.  D9200 can take a 31Khz signal natively.   However, standard-res only arcade monitors cannot, and you either have to interlace the picture or run at lower vertical res.

What arcade games require such high resolutions/refresh rates? I think some widescreen games such as the Beatmania IIDX series might, but those are not emulated.

looking at the game list there are a lot of games that are 60 hz and I'm just concerned playing them.
