So the power supply on my Capcom Bowling decides to die. No problem! I'll just order a replacement from Bob Roberts...
I get my new power supply and it has this knob on it, obviously for some sort of voltage adjustment.
My old power supply didn't have one.
So the two questions are:
Does it make a difference if my old one has a knob or not?
and
What is the knob for?

Firstly no it doesn't make any difference and secondly the knob is usually a pot to vary the output of the +5V connection between 4V and 6V.
-
So I need to set that pot at 5V then since the old one had no adjustment?
-
Your old one had an adjustment trimpot, too. It's recessed in the hole above the terminal strip.
-
Just set it to half way and you'll be fine.

Yes! Bowling once again! Trackball games rule!
Thanks for the help Apollo and Ken, much appreciated :D

Hey Bro,
I am glad you asked this question. I am getting in the supplies I need to build a supergun to test jamma boards and I picked up one of those power supplies from Bob Roberts. (he lives right down the street from where I work)...anyhoo, saw the knob and had no clue. Good info on here as always.
Cheers,
Bitner

Turning the knob towards the "H" (for higher) turns up the voltage.

You really should adjust this knob with a meter handy. I wouldn't just set it half way :P Games will lock up or fail in other ways if the voltage is too far off
with the game on, test 5v and ground on the edge connectors.
