Its probably been asked before, but here is my question anyway: Is it possible to connect an Arkanoid spinner to an Optipac/Minipac? If so, does it require any modification to the spinner? Thanks.

Another question, how do you get the top off the spinner to remove spinner from old CP ???
Sorry didn't want to start another post to ask that question :)

Thru the hole on the side of the Spinner TOP. YOu need an Allen wrench to lossen it up.
Take a look at the pics here of the arkanoid spinner top.

Maybe changing the board w/a PS2/Serial/USB mouse should do it. It requires a little hacking/work tho.

The spinner top that I have is different. It has two pinsize holes on each side. I goes straight thru.

Looks like a roll pin. If so you'll have to drive it out using a suitably sized punch and a hammer.

I have 2 of theese spinners....i'll look
The circuit boards have a molex 4 pin connector prob be able to wire it up to an optipac....I'll post pics tomorrow.
Jerryjannis is good at this stuff.

That's freaky... only today did I get my Arkanoid spinner in the mail (recent eBay purchase... damn this hobby's addictive!) & was wondering much the same thing. I assume all I have to do is build & attach a new disc with the holes/slots in it & wire it to a hacked mouse/Optipac using the existing pcb.

Wow...your's is missin' all the guts.....there are about 4 gears in that thing and a bottom plate...
At any rate..you should be able to use an oscar mouse or hack your own mouse to get that board to work...
you'll have to trace the leads to see what order the connections are in..it should be something like below.
NOTE: this isn't an any specific order, that's why you'll have to trace the board to determine what order it is yourself....I'll see if I can figure it out, but we may have to recruit JJ on this one. ;D
X1, +5, X2, GND

No guts... 4 gears... hmmm, maybe I'll just start one from scratch a la 'nasty spinnner'. I could still use the board, brackets & the original knob, provided I can figure out the board connections.
