....why do many people w/cab sites need to have game music playing in the background!!!! ???? ???
I can't tell you how many times I've had to quickly shut my sound on my work PC because my neighbors instantly know I'm messing around on the net when they hear Pac Man's theme blast from my PC!!! (or some other game music).
Please....stop the maddness!!!
(and yes, I can obviously turn down my volume...but I don't always remember to...or know that I should until it's too late).

I immediately hit the back button when that occurs to me at work so I never even see the offending site.

Not as bad as what happened to me a few years ago.
Someone sent me a URL that purported to be a hobby site. I clicked it, and a website came up with an image that was too gross to even begin to explain, and the following was repeatedly uttered over the speakers at maximum volume: "Hey everyone, I'm looking at gay porno!"
Oh, and the keyboard was locked and I had to fumble to find the reset switch.
Needless to say, I never surf the web at work with my speakers on anymore! Learn from me!

I sent that site to everyone in my office, through out the day you'd here it go off.
Although it wasn't a picture it was just flashing text "Hey everyone, I'm looking at gay porno", just incase the speakers were turned off, it could still atract attention.
I keep my head phones plugged in so nothing can be heard from my desk. (I originally started doing that for playing games at work, but it works for web surfing too.) Now everyone in the office has their head phones plugged in.

Man the picture was Nasty. How can I describe it?
Let's just say 'square peg in a round hole.'
Just remembering it and I am not sure I will be able to eat lunch today. :P

Unfortunately I've seen that pic too. Recently, I've had the one that said: "PERVERT AT THIS DESK. WARNING PERVERT AT THIS DESK" blairing over and over from a site that my "friend" directed me to.
I have to admit it was funny (Ok after the fact....but it scared the s**t out of me because it was so damn loud!....I had to literally pull the plug on my PC to stop it.

Imbedded MIDI/WAVs were tacky back in 1996. Some people just suffer from the syndrome of wanting to stuff every conceivable "trick" into their websites I guess.

I can't STAND websites that play music. Usually the same sites are packed with animated gifs, flashing text, etc.
I could see maybe doing it as a joke, like to make the cheeziest website possible, but I get the feeling a lot of the people that do it think it's neat... :-X
