Title: Happ's plastic bezel cost?
Post by: CGRemakes on May 02, 2004, 12:47:40 am
I was wondering how Happ's generally charges to ship a monitor bezel.  I have heard several that have have been discouraged from ordering one from them because of the high UPS ground shipping rate.  I tried to just do a "test order" from their site to get an idea of how much it would cost, but they required me to enter in my credit card information before the shipping costs were calculated.  I know many have began to make their own bezel, but I'm curious how much it does cost to ship from them to the western US (approximately, since I'm sure it varies depending on location).

Figure around $40 shipping for a $15 bezel.  :o

$15 or $16 shipping for your 19" bezel.  A bit more for the 27".  There are other options available that have been discussed on these forums recently.

I would likely be going with the 25" bezel, how much more would it be?

Why not just call (or email) Happ and ask?  8)

Because they reply "We don't know until it ships..."

Why don't you just put your credit card number in and find out?

the 27" I bought had almost 40 in shipping... I was in New Mexico at the time and that might have been an issue..

but I was REALLY pissed!  I had NO IDEA until it came to my door...

and its weight was so light, that I would have expected about 10 bucks with a few bucks tagged on for handling... but I think its considered an oversize... and thats why the prices where so high.

Well, you have a pretty good idea of how big a 27" bezel is, so why don't you check with UPS.  Happ's doesn't inflate their shipping charges, they just charge what UPS charges them...
