AGP slot? I don't see one.
-
The board has a built in ATI 9100 video card. But I don't think it has a video out for a TV.

True but this cheapo motherboard I have has the AGP slot sitting empty. And using onboard video mame and visual pinball run great.

Quote from the article:
Specifications of the MB870 include: P4 support up to 3.2Ghz; up to 800Mhz FSB; VGA, LVDS and TV-Out; 1 x IDE and 2 x SATA sockets; one DDR RAM slot; 10/100 LAN

I can see the composite out, but I don't know if it has svid or not.

its a different form factor. Not ment to compete with normal motheroboards.
its about 1/3 the size.
My trouble is that the form factor is GREAT for fanless computers.. but this doesn't need it..
So I see this being usefull for bartops (where your worried about space) and thats about it.
the video card is overkill for most emulators (and there are other mini-ATX boards that take intel processors).
what I LOVE is the fanless options. Where you can put it in ANYTHING and don't have to worry about fans / noise ect. Plus the VIA 1ghz chips will probably out perform a 3ghz intel for multimedia (the 800 bean the 2.5 last I checked). So their use for a smart DVD / tivo / mp3 player isn't going to be better...
So for pure Emulation... sure its better... but would the size be better then a normal ATX board? And how often is it more useful?
(I still want a via 1ghz machine for a classic + MP3 player with touchscreen LCD bartop.... but I can't image getting the OK from the wife to build one)

hmmmmm.... This might be just what I need to build the ultimate in "on the road child care"
CAR-MAME
Just think.... Mame on the road.
And it can double as a MP3 player/jukebox for the car....
....... Now, I just need to come up with the money $$ !
