:-[ So close, yet so far..
Hi all - OK, I've got everything I could possibly need to get my arcade cabinet up and running - but for the life of me the instructions (for a newb) from Ultimarc are damn confusing and appear to me to not make it that easy to install! I like pix and stuff, you know - building a mame cab for dummies type stuff.
I've got a PC (2.8g), arcade vga, jpac etc all ready to rock - but I can't understand (and yes, I've researched a LOT!) how to:
1) hook up my monitor (Nantao) to arcade vga
2) connect j-pac to arcade vga for 5 volt video boost
I've also got a mini-pac to connect my players 3 & 4 plus trackball - but for now I just want to get this baby up and running!
many thanks..
tim.

If you are having problems probably the easiest way to hook up Arcade VGA card to your monitor is with the Ultimarc video amp, of course that means another purchase for you but it makes life a lot easier and kills 2 birds with one stone. It gives you a simple way to hook up your monitor and gives you the voltage boost you probably need for your monitor. That way the J-Pac doesn't connect to your ArcadeVGA card just to either USB or serial port on your PC. Easy!

You have an ArcadeVGA and a J-PAC. On the J-PAC is a regular 15pin VGA connector same as on any PC monitor. On the Arcade VGA are two of the same connectors. Plug your video cable from your PC (ArcadeVGA) straight into the J-PAC. The J-PAC has the video AMP built in. Plug the J-PAC into the JAMMA harness and turn it all on, make sure you have the cabinet power on to power the monitor. You should get something on the arcade monitor even if it isn't set up just right. Remember you are connecting to your controls AND the monitor THROUGH the JAMMA harness which is why we advised you to leave all the wiring. I've sent you a PM, check your inbox.
