Hi
Anyone have some links to good plans for control panels or templates?

I like these two sites.
Check them out.

I have some control panel templates available on my website:

A lot of vector CPOs from the original games. A few templates there as well. Most of the AI files are at size.

Do you guys use a standard spacing between buttons? Would 1/2" be to much?

Do you guys use a standard spacing between buttons? Would 1/2" be to much?
I believed there is 1" 1.5" between the center of each button on my layout.
-
1 inch ?? each button requires a 1 1/8 hole....
therefore... if the button is literally touching each other... you'll need each button to be 1 1/8 apart.... (and I believe the bottom is even wider because of the screw nut...)
if each button is 1 in apart... they're overlapping...
that can't be right...
-
Yeah you're right. It is 1.5". I'm sorry about that.

Question, I did a quick "sketchup" No pun intended :P
These are the happs ultimate measurements. The inner circle is the button, next is the drill hole, and the last is the edge of the button. The 1 1/2" length from the center doesn't appear to be right. Did I do something wrong there?
-
hmm... Go get this template: http://webpages.charter.net/rbecker5/files/joy.doc (http://webpages.charter.net/rbecker5/files/joy.doc) Print it. Measure the space between the button centers. I would measure the space on my actual machine but I do not have access to it at the moment :'(. I don't even have a ruler!
-
Nevermind, I believe that measurement is representing the radius of the distance and not the true length. If I measure from the edge out 1/2 to 3/4 to the next edge. It is represented correctly.

Has anybody used this type of button layout? Do you like it?
-
The most important question is, "do you like it?" It doesn't look too functional, though. It's a skewed SFII layout. But if it works for you, go with it.
