I am planning my cabinet and want to know what everyone has done as far as powering up their system. My first prob is the monitor, The mainboard for the tv is behind the monitor and I think I'll have to turn it on manually everytime I do a cold boot. And what type of swwitch can be wired to turn the computer on from the CP? Can one touch of a standard button turn on and off the system? Thanks!

To have everything turn on at once use this:
http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&vertical=TOOL&pid=00924031000
...and yes, you can use a regular button to turn your cp on without a problem at all. Your on/off cp switch is like one of the buttons microswitches and can be used in place of your cp- simply wire one of your cherryswitches like you would for a standard button to your cp on/off toggle.
The other option is to see what your motherboard offers for power on options. Some motherboards will allow power on using the spacebar or other key. If this is the case you can reprogram your IPAC to the specified button and mount that right on your CP.

I have a hidden arcade button wired to the power header on my motherboard. But do a search for the word "smartstrip" or "smart strip" and you will find a lot of info about what is generally considered the best solution.

yup, this is what i did. connected a regular old pushbutton to my pc's power button wires and booyah, works like a charm. im using that thing from sears, they have it in the tools section or something weird. its a few dollars cheaper than the smart strip as well.

Do you have one of these? If so, I have a few questions I hope you can answer...
Does it have a cord or does it plug directly into an outlet?
If it has a cord, how long is it and does it have a 90 degree "right'-angle" plug on it?
-
No cord. Just plugs into the outlet.

I have a couple of these that I use in my workshop. It does not have a cord it is designed to plug into an outlet. So that sort of answers all of your questions.
-
So I guess to use it inside a cabinet you'd either have to wire an outlet to plug it into, or use one of those grey appliance extension cords.
Wait.... does it plug into TWO outlets at the same time or just one?
