I've mentioned recently I'm planning on putting a cabinet together with a PC and an XBox, using a switch box to go back and forth between the two. I plan on having a trackball runing for the PC, but I was wondering if it was possible to have the trackball wired up for XBox games as well. I'd like to be able to play Tiger Woods golf and Outlaw golf games on the trackball as opposed to a joystick.
As of now I'm not too confident that it would work, but I figured I'd ask the board.

There are no trackball devices/controllers available for the xbox. Sorry.
-
But you can use the trackball with PC games, right?
-
The trackball functions like a normal computer mouse when attached to a PC. So it will work for any PC game that uses the mouse.

suh-weet.
Can you run pc games through mamewah if you copy the CD-Rom game to the harddrive? Again, I'd like to be able to control the entire arcade through the software and external switches instead of opening up the cabinet to swap games in and out.

Yes. There are multiple programs out there to trick your computer into thinking the actual disk is in the drive. They mainly work by mounting the disk's "image" to an "image drive" which is basically a fake cd-rom. You may also want to look into no-cd hacks. They are available for a lot of games. Just google "gamename no-cd hack" and see what you come up with.
As for using mamewah to start the games... I'm 99% positive that you can do it but 100% unsure as to how. I know there's someone who will soon chime in on how to do so, so I'm not going to try and figure it out for ya. One other thing you will wan't to keep in mind is Wrappers. From what I've read, you need them for a lot of games/emulators that weren't set up to work with front-ends. I'm pretty sure Howard is the resident expert on those tho.
I'm also pretty sure the software forum will yield a whole lot more information on this type of thing and strongly suggest you post something there. If anyone gives you a hard time for the cross-post, tell 'em I told you to. I'm pretty sure I'm dis-liked by a few people on the boards already and certainly not affraid of a little more hatred... ;)

That's hilarious. Thanks for the help. I'll post to the software forum as well.
