Title: SCART SWITCHES
Post by: Serpent on April 20, 2004, 05:24:40 am
I connect my Dreamcast (via RGB cable) and my ArcadeVGA (via VGA-to-SCART cable) to my SCART TV. I switch them manually, but I don't think it's a good idea because I do this often and I think the SCART socket will be finally damaged. I've thought of a SCART switch. The problem is that I don't know if there will be signal and quality loss. Some time ago I tried using a SCART extension cable and I notice some noise on the display. Do you have experience with SCART switches? Any model of top quaility with no quaility loss?

I use a Scart switchbox for my VCR, Dreamcast & GameCube.  It also has audio/video out via phono/s-video connectors.  You switch input using puchbuttons, rather than auto-switching.

I find it very good quality, I don't notice any loss when playing games etc.  I did try the s-video out once and it was terrible quality, but who cares when you've got RGB via Scart :)

I'm not sure what it's called but if you like I can find out when I'm at home...
