This has been bugging me for a long time and hopefully someone on here knows.
When I open a window in File Explorer (Save in folder, unzip to folder, etc.), or select a file to open, the folders/files are always in reverse alphabetical order, i.e. Z-A.
I'm sure I messed up some setting somewhere, but don't know how to fix it.
Does anyone here know what to do?

Easy. Click the 'Name' tab and it will sort accordingly. Click it again and it does it in reverse order.
Also works for the other tabs. I always sort by 'File Type' myself.

Okay, that works in the File Explorer window itself. My problem is if I initially open a folder, or more importantly, if I am browsing for a file, saving to a different location, the window with the file names is in inverse order, and there is no sort tab.

It's not just a 98 issue... I have the exact same problem in xp...
I almost know it's some tweaking program I used to use that's at fault.
Unfortunately I've tried so many, I don't have a clue which one broke it. If anyone figues this out please post your info.

Been a long time since I used Win98, but does the following work :
Open a file explorer window
Set the ordering how you like (click Name)
Open the Tools menu
Open the Folder Options selection
Open the View tab
Click the 'Apply to All Folders' button
That should sort it out...

Strangly enough, applying a setting to all folders didn't work but resetting all folder settings did?
Thanks guys.

The Control - X out trick worked for me.
Thanks Wonderboy!
Amazing to me that something that annoyed me for 8 months or more was fixed in less than a day on these forums, and it wasn't even arcade controls related!!!!
